Published by Mattel, the Barbie Style Guide provides Mattel licensees with artwork in an easy to use and fun interface. While the design of the six CD series was based on the design of the print version of the style guide, Black Hammer worked within a very tight deadline to update the development platform from Acrobat to Macromedia Director. Programming the CD-ROM series in Director allowed Black Hammer to deliver the more robust functionality requested by Mattel. Features added to the 2002 Style Guide include opening licensee source files in either Photoshop or Illustrator from within the Style Guide application, and saving copies of the source files to disk from within the Style Guide.
